What’s your story?

Just as every author is unique, every manuscript is unique. I take a very personal approach to editing your story because I love reading about people. Every bit of writing tells me more about the person who wrote it, from the character descriptions and dialogue, to the comma splices and incomplete sentences. It’s my job to help your writing be the best it can be while keeping it truly yours. I can’t wait to help you share your story with the world.

Services

Content & Line Editing

A line edit includes two full editorial passes. I’ll provide advice on readability and flow, help establish a consistent style that is unique to you, and catch any awkward wording. This type of edit is less mechanical and more stylistic.

Copyediting

A full copyedit includes two full editorial passes. I’ll fix mechanical errors, suggest changes to help with readability, establish consistency, and create a style sheet.

Proofreading

After you’ve had your manuscript edited and revised, it’s time to proofread. A proofread includes one pass, where I’ll check for mechanical and formatting issues. I’ll also run final checks on spelling to catch pesky typos that creep in.

Transcription

I will transcribe audio or video into text for your personal and family history projects or memoirs. Alternately, I will type handwritten or previously typed text into an editable format.

“Let the reader find that he cannot afford to omit any line of your writing because you have omitted every word that he can spare.”
