What is included in a Free Sample Edit?

I offer a free sample edit of up to 1,000 words (approx. 4 pages) of text for longer projects. Contact me about samples on shorter projects. The sample edit will include two editorial passes of your sample text. I will track changes and include comments, just like I do with my full edits. I will also include a sample style sheet.

What is the turn-around time on Free Sample Edits?

I try to return sample edits within 3 business days. This may vary, but I’ll be sure to communicate any delays in advance.

Are you ready for a Free Sample Edit?

My free sample edits are great for authors who have completed their manuscript, worked with beta readers or critique partners, and completed one or more rounds of revisions. Polish your manuscript up and send it my way! I’ll let you know if I feel you’d benefit from a developmental editor before engaging my services for a copy edit. My goal is to help you make your manuscript the best it can be!

How to get started.

If you feel you’re ready for my Free Sample Edit, contact me today (email me at krissy@littlesyllables.com or click the “Make Contact” button below). Before beginning an edit, I will need your writing sample (generally the first 1,000 words or first chapter of your manuscript) as well as any style sheet, character sheet, or timeline you have used in your writing. I prefer to work in Microsoft Word, so a .doc or .docx file is best.
